How we work
When you decide to work with Eventide, you are getting access to joint doula care from both of us.
How this works is that we split the week, one doula being on call for one-half and the other doula being on call for the other. There are a few reasons we do this:
We believe that we can provide you with the best support possible if we have some days during the week to rest.
We are able to aim to schedule our postpartum visits during our off call time for fewer interruptions to new families.
This schedule allows us to organise our time to best be ready for you when you call. For example, if we are picking up other work, have family or school commitments.
Having two doulas also means that sometimes we both attend your birth. This may be because your birth falls during one of us coming on or off call, or because you have other needs such as children who need support or perhaps you may be in a surrogate relationship and would like a doula to support the pregnant person and another to focus their support on the parents. We are happy to work with you to find what would be most appropriate for you and your birth.
This means that we both attend your initial consultation and prenatal visits. It also means that we are both available to you via email and phone so you can get a breadth of experience and knowledge.
We look forward to hearing from you!
